The Chris Sharma lecture tour is all over now. I went on Monday night to the Redpoint Centre in Birmingham and had a mixture of feelings regarding the whole thing.
Pubic speaking wasn't really his forte. This made it slightly stunted (those expecting chat like Alan Hinkes would be disappointed). At the same time it was humbling that someone like Chris Sharma, who is almost put on a pedestal of greatness by many laymen (well me anyway) who follow top level climbers is slightly out of his depth when it comes to speaking to 120 people. His confidence lies in climbing really frikin' hard bold routes which he does quite successfully. Its quite nice and humbling that someone I thought would be brimming with confidence and reasonably full of themselves (as he is reasonably good)

I left thinking he really is some super cool cookie.

Did any body else come out of his lecture tour feeling the same or am I just spouting S*@t as I have to work on a bank holiday Friday and I’m bored.

Discuss!
