Hi, I started climbing recently because my boyfriend is addicted to it! I really want to get him a decent birthday present and I've heard you can get someone like Johnny Dawes to be a private instructor for a day, either in the Peak District or at a climbing wall.

Does anyone have any other suggestions of well-known climbers, or any good websites where you can get in contact with them?

Adrian Berry is very good.

Neil Gresham does masterclasses - am not sure about outdoor instruction though (in the UK)

Dave Macleod is very good. I have had some coaching from him. He will travel down from Scotland if you don't want to go up there.

Another vote for Adrian Berry and Steve McClure - both are excellent coaches and friendly people to spend a day out with.
