Going to be in the Lakes this weekend - it looks likely to be a wash-out and we may well end up at Kendal wall. Does anyone know if it has top ropes in place? If so, on what proportion/style/length of routes?

Thanks

In reply to Jimmy D: It has a few top-ropes up but not on the really big wall, as far as I can remember. Grade-wise I think you can get up to 6a/6b ish on an in-situ rope (was last there in about November so this may have changed.) Also they've got a couple of auto-belays.

Thanks - sounds like there's enough to keep us happy

In reply to Jimmy D: your want a rope to get the best out of the wall. Very few in situ ropes. 3 auto belays but these get quite busy.

In reply to Jimmy D:

The longest routes are nearly 20m high and go at Fr6a upwards - there are in situ draws but you need your own rope for these. Of the rest of the panels in the main room, probably 2/3 have no ropes in situ and a good few have no draws in situ either. Grades IMO tend to be soft there.

There are two bouldering areas (wall and cave) as well as a lovely little room for beginners.
