Went to see Andy Kirkpatrick in Dorking last night. He gave a cracking talk, very down to earth with some scary tales of his 'failures', mixed in with some brilliant humour (I'm sensing he's not very impressed by Bear Grylls, somehow!). I was amused that he explained that 'snerr' was that white stuff that falls from the sky in winter, for those who didn't come from Hull!

He talked for well over an hour (not counting the 20min break), and I could have listened for longer, time simply flew past. I'd recommend him to anyone who hasn't yet heard him speak, but sadly I think he only has two venues left on his tour.

In reply to owlart: Yeah, I saw his lecture/show in Hayes last week and would thoroughly recommend him to anyone with a sense of humour. Excellent combination of stand up comedy and tales of daring do. Got to agree, certainly doesn't sound like he's a big Bear Grylls fan!

In reply to Nevis-the-cat:

That reads just like a bit of south yorkshire. (Sheff praps?)

We better stop taking the piss out of Hull accent though.

Its not nice to mock the afflicted.
