any suggestions of a suitable provider, for someone who climbs? I thought Summits (the BMCs) proposal was a little higher than I wanted to pay and would like to compare.

Norwich Union. If you only climb in the UK then there is no supplement to the premium (or at least there wasn't a few years ago) - probably still less than a tenner a month for a young couple with an average mortgage.

My wife and I use Virgin after a recommendation from another climber. The price has worked out to be reasonable and they ask enough climbing-specific questions to feel confident we won't fall foul of any exclusion clauses.

You will, of course, be asked how high you climb!
