I emailed DMM with regard to the launch date and had this reply so passing it on to those interested:
Hi Atholl,
Thanks for your enquiry- Nikki passed on your email for me to answer.
The AK30 was meant to be ready for this spring, however, Carol (the man behind Crux) wasn't happy with the fabric on the initial prototype, and so put back the launch date to this Autumn; they should be in the country in September.
He showed me the final proto last week at the big trade show in Germany- Its an amazing bit of kit. He's taken the same fabric from the AK range, and coated the outside to make it even more durable and waterproof. He's also doing a 40litre model which will be available in April 2010. These will be known as the RK30 and RK40 (R for Rolltop)
