Just having a small tidy up and came accross 14 chalk bags I own. Some are quite old some are fairly new. Some used, some not.

This begs the questions; how many chalk bags do you have ?

Sorry, only 2! First one was crap, and the lining tore a bit, so got a new Arc Teryx C50p which is awesome!

2. I had to get a new one cos the stringy bit that closes my old one snapped. Was disgusted by the prices so I bought a flowery red chili one for a fiver! Luckily it matches my eyes.

In reply to 5cifi: Just the one, from AlpKit. It's a little on the small side, but seems adequate for my low-level puntering (when I'm not broken).

How do you end up with 14??

First one bought for me when i started climbing, the pull string didn't actually close the bag so chalk would go everywhere!
second one was a freebie from holdz, has only ever been used to keep biners in
third (and current) one was xmas pressie from my wife

I did dip my hand in a chalk bag once, it was on a hot day on a new E3 on slate in the IOM, about 1980.

In reply to 5cifi: 3. First one was bought as a line bag for a display kite, now it has a chalkball and a bit of loose. Second was bought for a quid at an Alpkit sale, that has loose chalk. Third one was bought for SWMBO, probably to distract her from what I was buying at the time. That has a ball.

I have one less chalk bag than you have handbags, if I read that correctly.I can also state I've never stuck my hand in one either. Basically I've never climbed hard enough to need the stuff, & never will now.

I brought one....thought I'd lost it then found another one I then found the one I'd lost then lost the one I'd found I then lost the original one agian so I brought a new one then both the other ones turned up!!!

my daughter has 4 and she is only 8!

1st we bought her
2nd she got when got in to the foundry academy
3rd given at Alpkits kids on the block thing at cliffhanger
4th her favourite purple boreal one that she won at a comp at the works this summer

I've only had 2 in 15yrs. The first I had until this year when I lost it at the nottingham wall so I had to buy another. so only one at a time!

I very rarely use chalk, I'm still on my first ball and that's 7 years old!
