I was at Round barn quarry, Blackburn the other night. I must have been one of the only climbers to have visited since it has reopened and was amazed to see how much heather has found its way back into the cracks making some climbs impossible.

Does anyone think that climbers have a harmfull effect on the environment we are supposed to love or is it just making the best use of an already "man made" area????

This can also apply to the flora and fauna of the lakes and such as the culling of high level sheep would surely change the length of the grass that grows at such levels which would surely have a knock on effect of the insects that inhabit the grasses the animals that feed on them and so on right through the food chain????

Wow that was a bit deep for a friday afternoon but there you go !!!!
