Hello,

Recently been told I've got achilles tendon insertion in both ankles. I know it's quite bad, but has anybody else had it? How long did it stop you doing things for? I have had tendonitis in both ankles previously (ca 4 years ago) and if it's anything like that, it'll be grim!

So what can I realistically expect???

In reply to Hjort: You may want to look at this. Then again you may not, surgery pictures alert! Lost of useful stuff on achilles and foot / ankle problems. No idea how reliable it is, just stumbled on it myself looking for info on tendonitis. Hope you recover quick.

I've just been diagnosed with exactly that. A calified mass within the tendons, easily seen on X-rays.

I have an MRI scan next week, and then a decision on surgery. I was told 8 weeks for them to heal, if surgery was required, then another 12 weeks or so of gently upping my exercise before I could expect to be back to serious exercise levels.
