OK, there are some fairly silly questions on the form, like 'When and where did you learn to climb', as if it was something that happened to me one afternoon on a course somewhere. Then there's 'What level of competence have you reached? ( eg Novice, Instructor). Hmmm.

However, the one that has me really stumped is: 'What is the maximum height you intend to climb to?'

Can I just say the top?

In reply to Dave Garnett: No the general idea is that you're not going to the himilaya or using guides in the alps.

I was told when doing hte life insurance bit that either of these two will get a steep hike in the premium whereas if you say you just potter about on grit they won't really bother [they haven't heard of e5 grit slabs.....]

Had the same fun when filling in mine.
Eventually, the response came back from them saying they'd cover me, except if I died "as a result of rock climbing". Pah.

Maybe it should say:
"What is the maximum height you intend to climb to.....above your last runner"

In reply to Gus:

Or what is the maximum deck-out height you intend to climb to (assuming your gear, if you use any, stays in).
