Anyone put climbing down as a sport or favourite past-time on their Life Insurance and if so, did you get 'stung' on the premiums? I've not listed mine down and need to renew soon...

I did and they asked me about what grades I climb and where I climb. As I climb below E1 and only in the UK, it barely made a difference. However, if you're going to do big routes on Denali, than you may get stung

In reply to Danzig: We went though a round of trying to get various insurance products last year. We found that my wife's colitis and my climbing made us more or less uninsurable. I think it depends on what grade you climb and how high. My mate is only allowed to die under two pitches up.

Sounds weird but having a quali drops the premium.

In reply to Danzig:

Scottish widows were pretty reasonable to deal with on a 10yr term policy. UK climbing hardly weighted the premium, Alps over 4000m was a problem. <400m added around 30% I recall.

My second is instructed to throw my carcass over the edge
