I'm looking at building a climbing/bouldering wall in my room. I will have to use screw on holds. What i wanted to know is, are there any problems with screw on holds compared to bolt ons? As a few people i have spoken to don't like them. What are everyone else's views on screw on holds?
Cheers

In reply to harry-shutler: Well they are normally tiny for a start, often used as foot holds because they are too small to take a bolt. Which screw on’s did you have in mind?

Why don't you use bolt on holds on your wall. You can buy T-nuts from loads of places fairly cheap just drill some holes in your ply wood and hammer them in the back then you can used normal bolt on holds.

In reply to Lord_ash2000: Im pretty happy with tiny holds, makes it more of a challenge. I have been looking at the holds from these two sites.

My reason for screw on holds is because unfortunately i am unable to use a sheet of ply wood. The room it will be is is in the loft (not a very big loft) with lots of very close beams, which i will be screwing them into. I would have preferred to use bolt on holds but it isn't possible in this situation, i'm just trying to make the most of what I have.

Also cheers for the site, its got some pretty good and cheap stuff. Never seen it before.
