Pierre Bollinger, has made the FA of Pyrrhus, 9a, at Gauxberg, in the Alsace, France.
The route can be divided into three parts. A hard 13 move ~8b is directly followed by a three move 8A boulder crux and then a bad, but also badly needed, rest where you can chalk up for the first time. All that...
In reply to Björn Pohl - UKC: do you mean random as in it's a low percentile move, or just really weird random, as in every time you do it it's like 'what the f*ck was that'?
In reply to Tom_Harding: I've been to Gauxberg a few times as my girlfriend lives in the village of Dossenheim a 10 minute walk away. I've only bouldered around the bottom of the routes but I do have the guide and most of the routes are > 7b, although there are one or 2 easier routes. It has one of the hardest slab climbs in the world at 8c+. I hope to take some gear when I go back next spring and try some of the routes (probably not this one).
Probably not worth going just for this but there are many other crags in the area, including some nice bouldering. http://www.ukclimbing.com/images/dbpage.php?id=145740
