Does anyone know of a good website with English-Spanish translation of climbing terms? I've found this:
http://www.tradgirl.com/climbing_faq/translations/spanish.htm

but it's pretty basic and I need something a little more in-depth. Any others out there? preferably something with crimp, sloper, open-hand, etc??
thanks!

Do you know what the verb for "to crimp" is?
regletar?

OP alicia 16 Nov 2010
In reply to Wiley Coyote:

I was wondering if that would be it, but I can't find any use of that on Spanish climbing sites--I'm just finding "usar las regletas." I don't know if I just need to google more or if the verb is completely different!

In reply to alicia:

Maybe they don't have a separate single verb and use the compound? I'll practise saying No puedo usar las regletas. Thanks for starting the threat tho. I've printed out Tradgirl for our next trip. Having said that, all we ever seem to met on the crags are multi-lingual Germans, Swedes and Dutch plus Spaniards who mostly speak American anyway!

Ha, good vocabulary addition!
