One of my little one asked me if she could take my copy to school as they were doing something. I've still to work out what it was!?

Still to get it back... (ex said it is still around somewhere)

In reply to baileyswalk: Pretty poor show so far folks.
What about:
Mount McKinley by Washburn and Roberts.
Mont Blanc by Bonatti.
Anything by Shiro Shirahata.
Himalaya Alpine Style by Fanshawe and Venables.

In reply to baileyswalk: I love the Pyrenees, so for me the series of big hardback coffee table books called 1000 ascensions by Miguel Angulo is wonderful - beautiful photos, lots of routes up all the major peaks, and very attractive hand-drawn maps.

In reply to baileyswalk: I just added to a thread on the cover picture of Tony Howards book on the Troll Wall,I had seen the picture in the "Book of Modern Mountaineering"edited by Malcolm Milne it has probably been out of print for years but it would get my vote for the best coffee table book.

In reply to baileyswalk:

Simon Carter's 'World Climbing: Images From The Edge' is a fantastic photo essay on rock climbing. Always a personal favourite to go back to for inspiration, it's got awesome pictures in general but from the UK the stand out section is the Dinorwig slate.
