Think several people will enjoy this whilst they nurse their New Years Eve hangover. Pete Willance, Murray Hamilton et al climbing on Foula's huge sea cliff. Featuring a cameo by Johnny Dawes.
Unsure when it was first aired, my father burnt it to DVD from an old VHS tape he had for decades.
Well worth a watch!
Good quote from Climb Shetland Forums:
"I tried to contact Pete Willance about it but with no success. I gather it wasn't a particularly happy trip. It was all the idea of a young lass who somehow got obsessed with it despite being not much of a climber. It would have remained an adolescent pipe-dream were it not for the fact that Daddy was a Beeb executive and knew which strings to pull."
Thanks for uploading it. Good film. The footage was pretty good. I'd have liked more Dawes and less of the Kaim but I suppose they had to concentrate on the big route...
Fascinating watching the politics of the trip evolve from the initial premise!
