I have used a Canon A3150 powershot compact for the past 2 and a half years. It has been heavily used, including in the mountains, dozens of winter days etc.
Recently I have noticed the picture quality deteriorate dramatically, to the point that my HTC mobile with its 5mp camera is getting better results.
By poor quality I mean dull & unsharp images.
Is it just time to replace it, as simple as that?

In reply to Andy Mountains: Probably it is time for something new. They sometimes pick up moisture, fungus and whatnot over the years of heavy abuse. I doubt it is worth trying to clean it out unfortunately

In reply to Andy Mountains:
Before you replace, check with Canon to see if there are any known problems. My Canon A80 went loopy, turns out there was a known problem with the CCD, sent to Canon and had it fixed for free, years after the warranty had expired. Works as good as new now.
In reply to DreadyCraig:

Good idea, thanks. Have just emailed Canon UK.

In reply to Andy Mountains: done the same with a cannon g9. Worth searching online to see if there's any issues. Just as previous poster stated
