If our current state with all it's flaws ceased to function what do you think you'd miss the most?

Health care? Policing? Someone to treat your waste water?

Oddly in Revolution despite not having had any power (or central government for 15 years) hairdressers and the laundry still appear to be working fine.

In reply to JLS: Rule of law I think is probably the most important thing the state provides on a day to day basis. Defence is clearly important too but it might take a while to notice if the armed forced disappeared.

Most other things could be provided privately, if less efficiently.
