Disagree. One of the most facinating presenters of all time.

Believe me, when you've sat through a Kurt Diemberger presentation Andy is a breath of fresh air.

One of the most fascinating presenters 'of all time'? I can understand disagreement but this is pure hyperbole; of all the people in all of time he is one of the most fascinating? Seriously?

Sorry, but what is a TED talk?

In the context of climbers who are presenters then yes.

Remember that I used the word fascinating.

Not hyperbole. Who would you contend is more fascinating?

So, I have seen:

Kurt Diemberger (twice)
Barry Blanchard
Joe Simpson (twice)
Stevie Haston (twice)
Johnny Dawes
Simon Yates
Catherine Destiville
Andy Kirkpatrick
Kelly Cordes
The Tax man

and several others whose names escape me at the moment.

And of all of them, Andy stood out as one of the most facinating (and entertaining).

Johnny was fascinating (but for different reasons), Stevie was entertaining and controversial and Kelly delivered one of the best mountaineering talks I've ever heard.

Yes only having 15 minutes to tell a long story is a tough one, and I can't watch it either - but luckily most people stuck with it, and the end made of for my 'on speed' style.

Must try harder.

TED is a series of conferences all over the world, although mostly in america, where people are, given about 15-20 min to present an inspiring idea or story. These talks are later placed online and cover everything from biotech and engineering to economics and philosophy via anthropology and crowd-funding along with almost anything else you can imagine.
They are well worth looking up.

mighty white though don't cha think?

successful highly motivated educated liberal white people talking about things that concern successful highly educated white people.

i was indeed enraptured for a while but meh, seen one, you seen em all. I enjoyed the shambolic presentation skills of AK in this one and the one about procrastination that follows it. But after seeing him live - hey Andy slow down mate, your stories are good enough without throwing it away for a cheap giggle.

UKC breeds some rite angry climbers

Andy was doing a presentation about climbing, that's supposed to be motivational, lighthearted and easy to follow.

I found it interesting, funny and inspiring.

I've come to the conclusion that Most UKC users are angry, obsessed, jealous idiots.

Rather than attacking other climbers, get your rock shoes on and go climbing, then maybe we will be watching a presentation on your achievements one day, all though that's highly unlikely.
