/ Uses for old rope
Some awesome creations using old rope. I'm eyeing up my knackered old ab rope now. I like the look of the door mat.
Anyone else come up with interesting things to do with old climbing gear?
Find a tree and build a rope swing
I cut my last old rope up, put knots in it and slung it over my chin up bar. Voila, i have TRX training suspension bands!
You make a hammock out of it too. There's a number of webpages on it.
It's usually just a rope net you lie in. You'll probably want some kind of "shuttle" to keep the extra wound around for the more initial passing-through.
Theres more info on that, also weaves for rugs, etc., in this book: http://www.amazon.co.uk/The-Ashley-Book-Knots-Clifford/dp/057109659X/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1368...
Excellent BMC linked project at green peak gear:
Lifeboats also accept old rope donations.
I gave mine to a camel owner...
