In reply to Rog Wilko: Good idea, just contributed myself. Hope he does the outside broadcast as long as it doesn't prevent him from fulfilling his challenge.

Interesting article. Apparently there is a "super-hard E10" on the Old Man of Hoy!

Great, I've been getting bored climbing the easy E10s!

Yep, some muppet had edited the wikipedia page for the Old Man of Hoy to say that the Long Hope Direct was on it, "...the hardest at the of E10/11, a free and direct variant of "The Long Hope Route"...". It is only out by a few miles, Hoy is a long way from Londinium and it was in wikipedia so what do you expect!

Great to hear of people pushing boundaries. I used to go to MA classes, also attended by a completely blind from birth chap. He would travel from his own home about 15 miles, on the train, then over a busy crossroads, into the CE centre , changing rooms , etc. on his own, he was able to tell me everyone who was there without having to speak to them, directly. ( And he had. Pretty good idea where you were to kick you, from listening to your breathing, and the rustle of your Gi. ) He showed me a thing or two about determination.
The visually impaired climber in this case will , i'm sure, be a fantastic inspiration for others.

There was a blind man who made it to the top of Everest .

In reply to duchessofmalfi: Oh I see, thought I'd missed a piece of news somewhere. There is an E6 on it mind, which from where I'm standing right now seems pretty damn hard.

Just like to say that I've known Red personally for a few years, and in addition to being a very inspiring climber, he's also totally cool. Good on you, Red.
