Sparked by the thread about charity fatigue...I am starting to get green deal fatigue, with countless phone calls about it. This morning I was also doorstepped by someone who was desperate to come round and do cavity wall insulation for me for *free*, including 'objection handling' my initial rejection by offering to do remedial work to bring one wall up to a standard where cavity filling would be an option.
I won't enter into any meaningful conversation about this on general principle about salespeople but can anyone enlighten me as to exactly who is making sufficient oodles of cash that they can afford to spend so much on marketing? Should I be taking these folk more seriously? I've been brought up to believe that there is no such thing as a free lunch and if it seems too good to be true then it probably is and this whole thing stinks to high heaven.
