Can anyone recommend some free software that does batch resizing?

Many thanks.

What operating system? Imagemagick will do it on unixalikes, there's a handy list of windows tools here:

I use IrfanView. Never tried anything else so I can't make a fair comparison. It works simply enough for me

In reply to Cobbler: Irfanview is great for this and many more jobs including batch re-sizing / renaming / sharpening etc. It's my default image viewer.

Lightroom will do it via export (lots of options). Leaves the original files untouched.

Thank you all for the suggestions. BIMP Lite seems to be just what I was after.

Accidentally downloaded iLivid (video downloading software) along the way which is another thing I was looking for! Bonus!
