Looking for some advice on Kids and the outdoors,

My partner works at a PRU centre (Pupil Referral Unit) and she's come up with the great idea of getting the kids out into the fresh air with some Geo-caching. The kids are aged 12-16 and really need the stimulation of the outdoors.

Is she going to need to have a Summer ML to walk around woods and fields looking for Geo-caches with the kids? She doesn't look to go up onto mountains or Wild places hence the question of the ML.

If she does'nt need an ML perhaps insurance ?

Thanks

Jase

You're right, absolutely shouldn't need a summer ML!

Depending on terrain, the new Lowland Leader award might be appropriate?

Or possibly not even that - but is the PRU run by (or under contract from) local authority? If so, they're likely to have requirements (and quite possibly insurance).

In reply to lone: There are often lots of geocaches in towns and parks so you dont always need to go too far.
In reply to lone: Geocaches usually have a 'terrain' rating that indicates the seriousness of the walk to the cache. This should give you guidance as to what you should be tackling.
