Going to put an Extractor fan in the bathroom. Does anyone know if the ones with Humidstats are worth the extra cash? Do they also come with timers? Or shall I just save some cash and buy the timer only option?

The 2 I am looking at are

It will be running from the bathroom straight through the gable end of the house to outside.
Thanks

In a well heated, well ventilated property a timer fan should be fine. In an older, colder house I would go for a humidistat, but remember to fit a shutter or a one-way flap to prevent the outside environment triggering it.

Don't know about those ones but Manrose humidistat ones have a timer built in also which can override the humidistat. Both are adjustable. Personally I just use a switched one - modern house. Like the manual control to use as and when and not every time a light goes on.

I moved in somewhere that has one that comes on automatically when the room becomes humid. I like it as, firstly I'm forgettful and would end up with mould, and secondly I'm planning on renting the spare room so it'll be handy to have it automated incase my flatmate is as forgetful as me!
