£300 and more for a weekend course improving skills or rope in a friend to stump up the same and get twice the days climbing routes with a guide?

In reply to Green-Winged Orchid:

If you can rock climb you could easily get out and get on with it yourself. Do a few grade IIs and you'll be well into the swing of it.

Well Davie I've done nothing for two years. I obviously thrive on confidence and was probably looking for some. I usually champion the amateur climbing ethic and would be willing to come north to climb with like minded locals friendly to an English Geoffrey : )

In reply to Wee Davie: maybe just spend it on Brewdog x

If you can get a "guide" for £150 a day to work with 2 of you snap him up - that's well below the usual going rate for Private Instruction.

Remember that hiring an MIC/BMG doesn't have to mean being taken up routes. It can also involve instruction in working as a pair with scope for you both leading if you're ready.
