The trigrest's are slightly to big for the Matrix shaft, put some tape underneath and it'll work. Some pictures towards the bottom here http://vikingalpinism.blogspot.se/2011/08/taping-icetoolhandles.html

ohh, please note, I had the axes pop out of shallow ice placements a couple of times. The second handle is too far out, not underneath the pick as on Nomics or Fusions.

Used matrix lights with petzl trigrest for 3 years. I took a small piece of bike innertube which I inserted the shaft of the axe through. It was a perfect fit to then put the trigrest over. Used that setup for 3 years and never had to adjust or tighten the trigrests in all that time.
