Any ideas for what to do NYE that's fun/different but doesn't involve pubs/bars?

I did the Welsh 15 peaks over New Year and was bivvying on Y Garn.
It was minus 15 from what I remember. Lovely clear night and you could see fireworks in every direction.
There were two tents from memory on the sides, but I slept on the summit in a alpkit hunka and mountain hardware lamina 0 on a M E five season mat.
Very memorable and a good challenge (I was in good shape and well prepared). Stocked up in Nant Peris and dropped off rucksack for a day sack, after getting up and making breakfast, seeing sunrise from Elidir Fawr.
Ran down from Snowdon to car in Nant Peris and got back for a family New Year's Day dinner

Find a snow covered hill and climb it, dig a snow hole/build an igloo and drink lots of cocoa. All night. By candlelight.

It's like a mini-adventure but in a Nissan.

Thanks for the additional ideas. Will play the bivvy idea by ear subject to weather. Thinking of a comedy club as a back up....

night walk above a city with a camera. Photos of the cityscape by firework lights at midnight, followed by the bivvy or camp if you wish?

There's that cave up on Laddow, which would make fine spot. Several caves just below Wimberry crag, Robin hoods Cave on Stanage, however that one can often be a joint share, etc....

I read that as "Under the stairs", which I suppose would be a good alternative if the weather is iffy.

In reply to jules699:

Yeah in those boulders just down from the main face there's maybe a couple of bivvi spots, you'd just need to have a hike up and take a look.
