I'm about to upgrade my old Vista beast to a more modern version with Windows 8 on it.

Does anyone on here have experience of running Adobe CS3 on Windows 8. Google is inconclusive, with some saying yes and and some saying no.

I'm also considering installing Windows 7 on the new machine (I'm not really a fan of Windows 8). Has anyone had success or otherwise with CS3 on Windows 7?

Cheers.

i suspect the biggest issue you might have is that CS3 isn't 64bit native

it also has problems with (network) drives that are more than 1TB in size and various other "quirks" So it may well come down to the actual spec of your chosen machine.

not much help i'm afraid, i use CS5 on 64bit win7 machine. the marketing team in my office use mostly CS3 and 4 but we're also still only on windows xp

Hi Rob - I'm home for 3 weeks

Just looked at "business" laptops in PC World with Windows 7 on them. Not cheap! Apparently installing Win7 on a Win8 machine invalidates the warranty.

I run CS2 on windows 7, it changes the color scheme to windows 7 basic when it's open but other than that it works fine
