Ok guys,

Literally I'm at Christmas Crack now... Any ideas why a piece of chained square plywood has been left in the base if the crack????

For the dry toolers to get off the ground.
In reply to Butterfly with a Bomb:

Really??? lol

Well, a Merry Xmas to you all!

We are sat at the base of Stanage, still confused as to why a piece of plywood is in Christmas Crack... Unfortunately our head torch died and we waded back to the car! Although did manage to spot a shooting star in the horizon!

Definitely there, couldn't work out why. Between that and failing headtorch light it got postponed.

It looks like a sign that has been hung there and flipped up by the wind and wedged itself in place.
Can't see how it is attached.
No idea what it might say if it was? Merry Christmas? Bird ban? Closed for routine maintenance? No overnight parking?

Merry Christmas anyway.!

A friend of a friend posted a picture of this plywood attached to xmas crack at dawn this morning, sign read along the lines of " 1st ascent reserved for (who ever put the sign there) " I chuckled at the pic assuming it to be a jest - which I have no problem with but if they've gone and left it on the crag, well that's just a poor show indeed!? Its xmas for gods sake!

Ho ho no, power of the internet, that's my pic. Thanks again to the santas that bought mulled wine and minced pies! Hope everyone had a good crack this morning and the baby got some sleep.

Great start to Christmas I think, lovely weather for it!

In reply to Michael Hood:

It was removed by Gordon, the installer, at about 12:30.
A great fun morning, instead of being at home when the bloody relatives call to drink all my booze!

In reply to JonDark: A little belated but will be back for the route tomorrow!
