I enjoyed this. Each one of the documentaries had its own specialism which made them not just yet another general Everest doco. And they portrayed a time where there was simpler and more straightforward 'adventure', rather than the current more commercialised environment. I also liked the simple and unpretentious production and narration.
Yes, totally agree. The 'Without Oxygen' film felt like it came from a totally different era. Pioneering in the true sense of the word.
Those camera shots must have took a lot of setting up, most at very high altitude and challenging conditions. They have been crafted by a master technician, as opposed to the handheld jerkiness that blights a lot of the contemporary 'action' docco's.
