Quite a lot of owners having problems with the 10 pin connector on the D800 and D800E, had been tempted by other reviews on this camera but put off by this, many probably don't use it much but worth checking if you have the camera.

Not had a problem with mine, and use remotes all the time with it...

I pretty much the cable release all the time, and never had any issues with it connecting.

The D800 was plagued with problems when it first came out, I'd let that put you off more than the 10-pin connector
