For a while I have been considering installing Magic Lantern on my 7d and 5d mk2 however does any of you guys inhere have any experience with installing or using it 'in the field'?

I am mostly interested in the intervalometer setting and the audio/vx options however I recently spoke to a friend (who knew of someone who knew someone who knew....... you get it) who damaged their their camera body due to over-heating during recording

I would be grateful for any information about ML from any of you who have tried it?

I use ML extensively on my 550D and highly recommend it.
If you are worried about camera damage, then ask on the ML forums, AFAIK its safe, although if you did something stupid with it (intervalometer long exposures of the sun?) then you may be able to cause damage.

I have been using it on my eos m and no problems, I think the worse you will get is the occosional crash that requires a battery removal to reset. I have not seen any reference to overheating during the research I did but thats not to say its not an issue I just didn't see.

The intervalometer works great
