Ligament and TFCC injuries (instability) of the wrist

I seem to have suffered a ligament/TFCC injury to my wrist (self diagnosis - I seem to tick all the boxes) the prognosis suggests at the least wrist in plaster for a few weeks.....anyone suffered this injury and just carried on until it heals itself?

My wife has - it didn't involve plaster, but it did involve an operation to shorten one of the bones in her forearm and to reattach the TFCC.

Best go and see someone about it.
