Is it one of the better grade II routes and worth doing?

In reply to AdCo82:

Worth keeping in mind that when it's thin it can be considerably harder than II.

It's a cracking route, but I doubt it's in safe nick just now.

Given the current snow conditions in Scotland, I doubt it will be thin but more likely to have an enormous or even impossible cornice!!!

it's great fun when it's in good condition and the ice cave is really quite surreal! It was the first route I climbed on the Ben - http://www.masterplan-mountaineering.co.uk/2012/04/gardyloo-gully/

I have seen pics of the ice cave....feel like it is a must do like Tower Ridge etc...

Wow, that's a great day out. Wonderful conditions.

In reply to AdCo82: With the current snow conditions unless we have turbo thaw for a number of days it'll probably be a uniform snow slope!

Yes, can relate to that when I first climbed it, accidently in a whiteout - until my head hit the cornice!!!

I've done it 3 times and never had it in Grade II conditions.

First was an ice wall behind the cave
Second the cave was full and ice on the right side
Third was the infamous tunnel

Fantastic route... plus the approach is Incredible
