Thinks that the major cause of conflict in eth world today is 'religion' - or rather, the wrong sort.

I'm not sure that a man who relatively recently signed up to a religion that insists he eat the living flesh and blood of its' God - every week! - is really in a terribly strong position to criticise other faiths, to be honest.

Or to analyse the catastrophes he personally helped unleash in Afghanistan and Iraq in religious terms.

This is the man also, who shook hands with Gadafi.

Maybe but one good act doesn't make up for a load of crappy ones.

In reply to Rob Exile Ward:

Yeah, but to be fair, he was talking about extreme religions, not bog-standard cannibalism.
In reply to felt:

Obviously, doh! Eating your own god is fine.

In reply to Rob Exile Ward:

Is it cannibalism if it's a god you're eating though?
In reply to puppythedog:

Hmm, I wonder whether we are straying a tad off topic here? If I mention virgin births, miracle healings, priests mediating between god and man and granting (or not) absolution, will that keep things more focused?

...On the fact that Blair is a total idiot with an extraordinary lack of self awareness or culpability for some of the most destabilising policies of the last 40 years?

In reply to Rob Exile Ward:

I do quite enjoy the way people blame other groups' sky pixies for conflict without any insight into their own nonsense. I think Tony did "some" good whilst in but also that he was a warmongering zealot with little insight and too much a sense of his own imperial importance. Shame really because I think he contributed to buggering up the labour party.
I worry about the behind the scenes power he may enjoy.
In reply to puppythedog:

Wouldn't cross the road to p!ss on the man if he was on fire.

I am with you on that one

In reply to puppythedog:

You're right. Eating the flesh of a God isn't cannibalism. Unless we're all gods. Then it'd be OK. Coz then it'd be wrong. Or OK. I'm not sure. Maybe someone who believes in Gods can explain

Blair is bang on the money.

In politics the right look for converts and the left look for traitors.

He's obviously right.

Could you elaborate on that statement please.
