Just watched Cameron in the clip here

All pretty bland stuff but about the right pitch. Then I tried to imagine Milliband in his place. I can't see it.

People always say that about the opposition leader, they said it about Cameron when he was in opposition, said it about John major as well...no wait, that's a bad example

I don't particularly recall people saying Cameron didn't look like a potential prime minister, not en masse anyway. Obviously die hard Labour supporters will always say that about a Conservative leader and vice versa. On the other hand, Miliband is in an unelectability league of his own and I suspect a lot of Labour supporters think that deep down in the same way that lots of Tories once felt about IDS
