Yeh yawn yawn indeed.

Also this bloke lives in NYC (http://www.bowiewonderworld.com/faq.htm#p08).

Hey you crazy Scots you don't want to leave the most successful country the world has ever seen, you need to stay, ignore the big fat pied piper and his band of swivel eyed loonies and their talk of things like a progressive society and written constitution. I know UK is just fab although I can't be arsed living there and paying tax myself!

So looks like crapping about "The Sean" shall now stop

Given that his speech started "In Japanese myth the rabbits on my old costume that Kate's wearing live on the moon. Kate comes from Venus and I from Mars, so that's nice" I wouldn't place too much credibility on the rest.

Sounds just like that crap that comes out Salmond's mouth

The thing is the famous that lived abroad people that are pro independence were decried for interfering. Bowie's comments are being better received.
They need to be even handed. (but that is too much to ask of course)

What the hell is all the fuss about? Yeah he doesn't live here, but who cares. I'll still have much affinity for Britain when I leave the country in a month and I'll still have an opinion on British matters. He has an opinion on the matter, he voiced it (he can if he wants) and that's that. Plenty of pro-independence people voice their opinions too.

And it was a fairly positive comment that he made, not like some of the negative shit that is coming out from people on both sides.

Mmm. Feel the love on Waterson's feed.

Check out the illiteracy, as well. Apparently it's not just the English they hate, it's English too.

In reply to lynx3555:

Well-earned? How do you mean?

Giving someone abuse for making a mild, pleasant, positive comment suggesting they'd like Scotland to stay in the UK is pretty seriously messed up.

(In case you find it relevant, I'm pro-independence, despite being thoroughly fed up with both sides in the debate.)

Seems a bit harsh, all because he doesn't want any constitutional ch ch ch changes.

They don't agree with him, so he isn't allowed an opinion and is basically worse than Hitler

Small round of applause!

In reply to Al Evans:

The basis of the op was to get some of the more unreasonable pro unionist posters performing the three knuckle shuffle over their keyboards in an ecstatic melee whilst hoping to bore some pro independence supporters to death before having the opportunity to vote on the big day
In reply to neilh:

This independence is a god-awful small affair...
Her mummy is telling yelling "no", though her daddy has told her to go...
It's a saddening bore, for she's lived it ten times or more...
... it's the freakiest show!
On man! look at those cavemen go... it's the freakiest show.
Rule Brittania is out of bounds to my mother, my dog and CLOWNS...
... it's a saddening bore.

can i just clarify... my yawn was for the thread title rather than DB's comments

It was actually a nice thing to say i thought. "please stay" is much better than "you're a d1ck for even thinging about leaving you loser" which seems to be the normal position

He gives a damn - good for him.
This is the first time I have seen some of Callmedave's love bombing in action.

rallymania good post, it does make a pleasant change from the usual insults and patronising crepe we get.

In reply to Fat Bumbly2:

Agreed. Good posts. DB at least had something positive to say. Can't grumble at that, good for him.

My banter was a bit of a poke at the thread title aswell, just couldn't resist...

Sorry, Chris reading it back, it was a bit jumbled.
I'm guessing people will have got the gist.
