This is from the 1971 Climbers' Club Bleaklow guide.

Doesn't that sound an awful lot like the adjacent Sunshine Superman?

In reply to JimboWizbo:

Not so surprising as both are next to each other on the same wall. Sunshine Superman is hardly easy climbing above the ledge.

I guess once you've done the move off the flake it's 'relatively' easy going through the ledges

Sorry, my post should have been on this thread, not the one it appeared on.

I've soloed Parkers but thought very hard about trusting those flakes on Sunshine Superman. Besides Parkers is a much better climb and it's possible to ascend without using any hold in the crack (but you need it for your pro).

How curious. Sounds like some sort of hybrid moving off the wide and big lower ledge on Sunshine onto the smaller and higher ledge on Parkers. Like Sean I'd be nervous about trusting the flake on Sunshine. Glad to see it's cleaner (didn't say clean!) at the mo after my marathon cleaning session the other year. Was bouldering down Hobby yesterday PM and all looking a bit dirty after the winter but will soon clean up.
