Anyone been to Castle Naze recently? What's it like at the moment? Taking a mate this afternoon so he can practice placing some kit.

Not the most extensive venue I know but it's close to where I'm picking him up. Any info (or suggestions of other crags) is appreciated.

Cheers,

Jay.

Hey Jay,

We were there two weekends ago and it was nearly all in good condition. Some of the climbs were a little green but fine apart from that. Lots of easy climbs for new leaders but the belays can be a little tricky.

Enjoy,

Josh

There's plenty of loose rock lying around on the top of the crag - worth considering a helmet if you're going to be spending lots of time below looking at gear placements (and not looking upwards).

I never leave home without it (when climbing anyway). Thanks for the heads up!

1 min flat vs 4 mins uphill. If you are going to be a pedant at least get it right. Windgarther is much better for beginners anyhow.

yep that's about it. About as easy as you can get in any case!
