IT Help - Web Access via BT Internet & Google & Oracle

I can access facebook and UKC okay, but if I google for other things like hotmail, or genesis bikes, the browser seems to time out and 'page unavailable' appears.

I have the feeling I've missed an update, either an Oracle or a Java one, how related might this be, and has anybody any ideas?

unlikely they would take it out. Might be a DNS issue.
When you say times out, is that the google search?

are you sure that you are actually getting to those sites or are you maybe seeing cached versions?
try pinging them and see if you get a response

if you have access on another device look up clearing your browser cache depending on the browser you use

I think so, yes. It 'thinks' for ages before the website not available page appears.
