A friend and I are planning on coming up to Scotland tomorrow from Bristol and considering Tower Ridge. Does anyone know what the conditions are like at the moment?

Tower Ridge, and the rest of Ben Nevis is very wintery, and there has been a lot of drifting snow (in all directions), so the various approaches to the ridge will be slow going. That said, plenty of teams have climbed it over the past few days, so there may still be a faint track all the way. Expect soft snow, particularly lower down, but with rock protection available, and just give yourself plenty of time. Some teams started at midday yesterday, and seemed to do ok, but I would aim to start quite a bit earlier.

2nd that, start early as we were queueing at the gap just before dark on monday! still there is firm neve where you want it and some really good climbing for the grade, be very careful descending the red burn as there are huge quantities of windslab about, stay on the high ground to the right or locate the zigzags...S
