I've had this meassage come up a few times in recent years where I am logged on and yet prevented from replying to a thread. What am I clearly missing that's obvious?

You just have to force a full refresh of the page, normally Ctrl + F5 will sort it. I'm not entirely sure how UKC control login cookies, but I suspect not very well, as I don't have this issue on any other websites. The perils of writing your own PHP (ewww) based forum software I guess.

You have left your browser in private mode after looking at porn.

I'm aware a refresh solves the problem, I just wondered why it happened and only sometimes.

It's a glitch in the matrix

Basically when you login, UKC set a couple of cookies going 'this person is logged in'. If you've had a tab open, pre-login, or the cookies have been cleared, then UKC sez 'no cookie, not logged in, can't reply'. Even tho it may say you're logged in at the top of your screen. Very simply.

I'm not a PHP programmer (python guy mainly) but I suspect that fixing it from a UKC perspective isn't that easy, hence it being a bit ropey.
