Going to take the lad to Gogarth soon.

Would be nice to do DOWH. How many hours either side of low water (at Holyhead) is the platform ok?

I've done it twice before, but on a falling tide, and the tables suggest low water isn't going to be ideally timed.

thanks

C'mon folks - somebody must know if it's 2 hours either side or 1 or 3.5?

Can't you just turn up access it from the notch when the tide's in?

I would depend on the where we are in the lunar cycle too as the tide height would vary over a month. Look for a 'spring' tide on the tide timetable, spring tides reach the greatest heights but 6 hours later they are also the lowest fall so gives you more time in the zawn. They generally happen for a few days over full moon Me? I just did it from the notch.

Never done P1 even with tide out.

The answer, for any future thread searcher, is about 3 hours either side if the sea is calmish

Have done P1 in calm seas, but the belay ledge was only a couple of feet above the water, so you do need it calm.
