I'm planning to do the Five Sisters of Kintail coming weekend, with a group of walking friends - doing the 'normal' traverse. Does anyone know there will still be much snow on these hills? Would it be wise to bring walking axes and/ore crampons? I haven't been out that far west at all recently... Thanks

Snow covering on the highest 100m or so when I visited last week, more pronounced on north facing slopes as you'd expect. Winter kit was advisable in the morning after a frost but conditions pretty soft by lunchtime. Suggest you bring the kit in the car and make the call from the parking bay when the tops are in view and you have a forecast for summit temperature. As ever, better safe than sorry.
