Before climbing Shrike last year. Me and a friend somehow ended up on an awful loose hard slab in between 2 sopping overhangs. Somehow whilst still being on the route we were still convinced we were on Shrike. It started to the right of a small wet overhang then carries on up what looks like a HVS/E1 crack, this eventually meets East Gully Wall. Because I was trying to match the description of Shrike I ended up trying to quest left over a desperate slab above the 2 small wet overhangs. When finally coming to the conclusion that this was not shrike it occurred to me that this awful piece of rock might have never been climbed (on purpose). There are no routes according to the definitive guide left of East Gully Wall. Or are the routes left of East Gully wall a taboo subject with all muppet climbers like us who get Shrike wrong? It was in middle of the amazing spell of weather we had last year, and was still sopping wet.
