Following a caver being hit by rockfall deep in one of europes largest cave systems on june 8th, the rescue team are now, 10 days later, just hours away from getting him out. What a herculean rescue operation!

Bloody good effort, heres hoping the casualty makes a good recovery!

P.s. im sure our mountain/cave rescue guys would be just as good if a similar event happened here

It was a joint effort of rescue organisations of many countries, amongst them Austria, Italy and Croatia.

While a lot of the work outside the cave and in the vertical sections was prepared by local mountain rescue teams, getting the guy out through the narrow parts of the cave involved specialized rescue teams from Italy, Switzerland, Slovenia, Austria,...
