Hi Guys,

I was wondering if there were any alternatives to standard rock climbing protection other than the standard nuts, cams, hexes etc. I was wondering if tins of baked beans were acceptable and also what sort of fall they could hold and also how this could be tested? Myself and a friend used this type of protection the other day and here is a video. Does it look safe?

Oh yeah, that looks safe.

Probably safer than a rusty peg.

Love it, my sort of climbing. Carry on!

Technically, they are runner beans......

I know someone who did Right Eliminate, before big cams, protecting it with cut to size plastic drain pipe threaded with rope.
