keyboard playing up

My keyboard has just started doing something rather strange - its as if someone is keeping their finger on the left cursor key so I can't type anything. Has anyone got an idea how to stop it? Thanks
Edit: the key isn't stuck as far as I can tell.

scrub that, I think I sorted it - someone had put some stuff on top of my wireless keyboard.
