Hello.

With my knowledge of climbing in Snowdonia limited to Dinas Mot, Dinas Cromlech, Tremadoc and the slate, I could do with some recommendations for big mountain days in the area.

I don't really want chossy rambling vegetated bollocks so assume Tryfan and Lliwedd should be avoided - happy to be corrected?

If the weather's fine do I just go to Cloggy, end of story? What's good there?

I don't know anything about Ogwen. Should I go there?

Would prefer lots of mileage without walking between crags too much, hopefully 150m+ routes or thereabouts.

Mostly HS - HVS/E1 providing no alarming stuff for seconds at the higher end of that scale.

We have two days to make the most of it.

I have a guidebook, but any and all recommendations appreciated.

Cheers,
Tom

If you've only got two days and the weather is good, go to cloggy if you've never been. Loads to go at.

lliwedd has some good routes too. Save that for another visit.

Well, it does rather have that look about it. 'Heather Terrace' etc...

Yep, never been. Thanks, I thought that might be the case.

Plenty of options away from Cloggy and at the grades you are asking for probably better destinations. Kirkus Route at Cwm Silyn, Mur Y Niwl/Pinnacle Wall (or the Grimmett) on Craig Yr Ysfa, Main Wall on Cyrn Las, Alpha and Direct Route on Glder Fach, Idwal link ups such as Tennis Shoe/Original Route/Continuation Crack/Grey Rib and Slab make for long and fantastic days.

Heather Terrace is just the walk in. The routes themselves are mostly pretty clean.

Cyrn Las maybe? You've got The Grooves at E1 and Main Wall at HS.
